Hello everyone and welcome to another one of my blog posts! Today I will be starting a new blog series, called Digital Breakout. Digital Breakouts are when players try to solve clues to codes to solve the "game". For more information, go to www.breakoutedu.com/digital/. The most recent breakout I have done is Abducted by Aliens. In case any of you guys want to play, I will not reveal clues are codes. This is just a review. So in this story, you have been abducted by aliens, and to return to Earth, you must pass a test of space-related topics. After completing the Digital Breakout, I will say that I enjoyed it. I personally enjoyed the space theme, and that the "game" made me think. I did not think it was too hard, but not too easy. This breakout is ranked 5. Ranks 4-6 are for middle school students, so this fit my category. The other ranks are 6-8, high school, and 8-10, adults. Before I end this blog, I will leave you with one hint: Clues are everywhere, it's up to you to find them! See ya later!

This challenge Friday, the teams had to create the tallest tower of index cards that can hold Scoop, a stuffed animal, for ten seconds. My partner was Kendall. What we did was fold an index card into three, and do this to six cards. Then, put two into a box, and make three boxes. Next we taped those together, creating a big box made of smaller boxes. After that had been made, we put two un-folded index cards on top. When our teacher came to measure our structure, we were pretty confident. Unfortunately, Scoop only lasted about two seconds on our tower. But I am still proud of our structure and effort. For our quarterly project this quarter, we all made infographics. I did mine on the steps to making a movie. I chose this topic because I LOVE movies, and I was wondering the steps to making one. To start, I'll say what was easy about making this infographic. The easy thing about making this infographic was placing my facts. Since my topic used steps, I knew I had to make the facts flow easily so the reader could read them easily. Some thing that was hard was not making my infographic look cluttered. since I had so many steps, it was hard to make it not look cluttered. I would also like to talk about an infographic that I thought was really nice. The infographic I am going to talk about was made by Rakshak. His was about the most visited national parks. i liked how he used a map to represent his data. Also, I liked that if you clicked on an icon, you would be taken to google maps to show a national Park. His infographic had good information, and not to little and to much. Good job Rakshak!! My infographic
Last Friday my spectra class made a Lego maze. This is a picture of my group's maze. The rules for this maze was:
On the left you will see the marble's entrance to the maze. There are two black pillar-cone-shape-thingies that have green tops. That is The Bond. The Bond must stay strong! Following the maze path, there are three ways to move. Can you figure it out? If you want to read the instructions, click READ MORE.
The Catapult rules:
Here is my group's catapult! Our spoon(the catapult) was rubber banded between two Popsicle sticks. I think John(my partner) might have gone a little overboard with the rubber bands, but it was stable. Those Popsicle sticks were banded to another Popsicle stick. Our catapult's trigger was a rubber band hooked onto the spoon and the Popsicle stick that was attached to the others, with another rubber band looped around it. The way it worked was: You pull the rubber band looped around the trigger, causing the other band to snap off the spoon, launching our penny.
Hi!! This is my first post and I am so excited! My name is Amanda(MandyKandy). I want to tell you little about me. I consider myself a fashionable bookworm and nerd. My favorite book is The Hunger Games Series. I am in middle school(yes, I'll say it again). I think middle school is way better than Elementary school because you move around more and don't have to sit in one classroom all day. Also you get to see your friends more, and I have them in almost all my classes. Last week, the school sold bagels and Kona Ice came. Only in middle school!
